Ad-hoc Committees

The Board may appoint any ad-hoc committees as the need arises.

- The Committee on Standards of Care and Training in paediatric oncology is such a committee. It was appointed by the Board to make recommendations regarding the requirements for training of a paediatric haematologist/oncologist and for the organisation of a paediatric cancer unit (PCU).

These two recommendations were worked out in a official SIOP document, approved by the SIOP Board in 1991.

This document was taken as reference point for a document made by the ICCCPO in collaboration with SIOP. This new document was approved by the SIOP Board and membership in 2002.
