Members in all categories of membership will be assigned to the appropriate branch according to their country of domicile.
SIOP has appointed Continental Presidents who represent the above mentioned regions.
These Presidents will hold office for three years and are eligible for re-election of one more three-year term.
They will be responsible directly to the SIOP Board and together with the Board they form the SIOP Council. The Council mets once a year to discuss the strategy of SIOP. The Continental Presidents will be considered representatives of the regions they represent, and are expected to act in close liaison with established regional societies or associations pertaining to paediatrics and paediatric oncology.
Continental Presidents will be elected by a postal ballot conducted by the SIOP Office of all those members shown as having their country of domicile as within the appropriate continent. Nominees will be sought by the Secretary General in a letter to all members within a continental sub-group, unless the continental branches have developed a different procedure.
The membership of the Society by continents will receive a ballot paper on hich would be listed the names of the nominees. This will be mailed two months before the annual general meeting and should be returned to the Secretary
General two weeks before the annual general meeting. A simple majority of votes received will result in election.
